I read this article from batangbaler and I found it interesting because it reminds me of old news and rumors about the plans on our very own riverside being poised to be the ninth town of Aurora.Though the details of the bill doesn’t specify what districts or barangays are involved, it is the author’s (of this blog) own prediction that Maria Aurora’s riverside is being reffered to. Following is the post from batangbaler.
While searching online for info about the House Bill filed by Cong. Sonny Angara on the conversion of Baler into a component city, I found another bill he filed last December. It calls for the creation of a 9th municipality of Aurora to be called Dr. Juan C. Angara.

Mula sa website ng batangbaler, napag-alaman natin na may panukalang batas ang INYONG Congressman Angara na naglalayong lumikha ng bagon bayan sa ating lalawigan. Malakas ang paniwala ko na ang nasabing bagong bayan ay walang iba kundi ang Riverside, at gagawing sentro ang Quirino. Maganda ang kanyang panukala, ngunit para sa akin ay hindi ito napapanahon at hindi ito kailangan. Sa aking pananaw, wala pang sapat na lakas ang ating barangay at ang buong Riverside upang humiwalay sa Bayan ng Maria Aurora. Hindi rin maganda ang magiging epekto sa ating bayan ang paghiwalay ng Quirino. Lalong mapapatagal ang inaasam-asam nating kaunlaran sa ating bayan. Hindi ang paghahati ng isang bayan ang solusyon sa lumalalang kahirapan, kundi sa tapat at magaling na paglilingkod ng mga namumuno.
Isa pang ikinaiinit ng ulo ko ay ang pangalang gagamitin kung sakali mang tama ang aking hinala. Papangalanan daw na “Municipality of Dr. Juan C. Angara” ang bagong bayan. Tayo ay lumaki sa lugar na malaya sa kuko ng mga Angara. Umunlad ang ating munting Barangay at wala silang kontribusyon sa kung anumang tinatamasa natin ngayon. Bakit kailangang ipangalan sa kanilang pamilya ang ating barangay at mga karatig nito? Kung magdesisyon man ang ating mga kongresista pabor sa panukalang batas, at manalo sa plebisito ang nasabing panukala, ngayon pa lamang ay kumilos na tayo upang hindi maipangalan kay Dr. Juan C. Angara (kung sino man siya) ang ating minamahal na Barangay.
Batangbalete, nais ko sanang maging tulay ang iyong site upang malaman natin ang niloloob ng mga kapwa nating taga-Quirino.

Marahil ay halos lahat ng taga Quirino or riverside ay iisipin na magiging mas kapaki pakinabang sa mga nakatira dito kung magiging bayan man ang riverside. Maganda lang siguro itong pakinggan pero sabi nga nila ay hindi pa tayo handa.

I think it’s not appropriate at this moment in creating a new municipality. We need to create more jobs and livelihood programs in the riverside. If the rumor is true that it could be the possible target of becoming the newest municipality of Aurora, as one of the resident my concern is that “RIVERSIDE”
is not progressive enough and economically strong in handling programs of it’s own. No offense but it’s true.
Yes it’s like music to the ears hearing that we will be upgraded to a municipality but, the question is
ARE WE THAT DEPENDENT ENOUGH TO RUN THINGS AS A MUNICIPALITY? I’m not being pessimistic here. Let’s face the reality.
I have no problems with Baler becoming a city because that means a bigger portion of the national budget.
Why not try to develop all the municipalities of Aurora instead of creating another one that needs to be developed anyway.
There are lot of things that needs to be prioritized other than “making histories of their own”. I’m thinking now that the road project from Maria Town Proper crossing the riverside could be one of the “paimpress things” for us riversiders to let them named us under their own.
We riversiders do have plenty of memorable and significant histories. We don’t want to have a new one, us becoming the newest municipality?
The riverside needs JOBS, LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMS and LONG-TERM PROGRESSIVE PLANS.

When we say it can be done tomorrow then your tomorrow will never come. IMHO, It’s really a good thing that a place become a municipality. It will be the center of trade as a public market will be rise as well as a “munisipyo”. So it means more jobs and don’t deny the convenience that gives to our people. A police force will be deployed so it will be easy for our people to get help and our place will be more secure. Maybe a hospital will be beneficial and I think it is a requirement. As it will be the center, you can make your own business then, maybe a hardware shop, grocery store, salon, internet cafe, etc.. Its good right!? Maybe a COLLEGE SCHOOL will soon be rise, who knows… Don’t get the idea that the gov’t will provide all these stablishments for us. Progress lies on many aspects. We must have a GOOD mayor, SUPPORTIVE people, SECURITY of the place, GOOD system, STRATEGIC location (i think we have this one, and what else) to attract investors & entrepreneurs. It is really a good chance if this happens.
Well, what i don’t like is the municipality NAME. C’mon! Why dun you rather put it when you build a hospital or a school. You didnt live in riverside anyway! I better buy it if our street’s name be replaced instead like ANGARA STREET 101, 102… Can we bargain on that? Heheh.

In fact, the Sangguniang Barangay already passed a resolution regarding the araw ng “tiyenda” in that public market. Wala pa ding nangyayari.

Pwede naman magkaroon ng progreso kahit barangay lang tayo. Bakit ang Carmen sa Rosales, Pangasinan? Maunlad din naman ito kahit barangay lamang. Masyado lang talagang untimely itong panukalang batas ng inyong congressman. Kung talagang progreso lang ang hanap natin, paunlarin natin kung ano ang meron tayo. Walang short-cut sa pag-unlad.

At this stage, of course a tanod’s baton maybe enough to secure peace though some burglary & robbery happens once in a while. And take note, some were arm!
Carmen of Rosales? This is a special case. It benefits from its major crossroad linking Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Baguio, the Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley. Rosales will probably become a city or maybe Carmen will and Rosales will become under its territory. It would be there arrangement.

Municipality of Juan C. Angara? what a b_—–t! Can’t they think of better concerns to legislate?
The requirements for creation of a municipality are indispensable. INCOME, POPULATION, AREA. I think only the area qualifies the riverside(?) if the new municipality would be carved out of Maria Aurora.
Second, would Maria Aurora allow the carving out of another municipality from her?
Maria Aurora is an IRA dependent 3rd class municipality. And its IRA for the next 10 – 15 years has already been collateralled to the DBP as it had acquired a loan for the construction of a new public market. If a new municipality will be carved out from Maria Aurora, say the riverside barangays for example, the area and population will be diminished by at least 30%(nevermind the income. its negligible LOL).
Imagine what will that foolishness could bring. One thing will increase, however —The number of poor municipalities in the Philippines as there would be a new addition.
So my appeal to the Honorable Congressman is just forget this thing for the meantime.
There were so many significant concerns which need immediate attention, like food security, employment and inflation.
Resolve these problems first so that Aurorans could hail you

Kwento pa ng ating bubuyog, daig pa ng dalawang pulitikong ito ang mga teenager dahil sobrang sweet ang kanilang relasyon kahit alam na alam nilang bawal sa mata ng tao at sa Diyos ang kanilang pag-iibigan. Apple of the eye talaga ng pulitikong ito ang Lady Mambabatas kaya lahat nakahanda itong gawin para rito.
